As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, a conglomerate of Chagoury brothers owned companies has donated one billion naira to Lagos State government to fight coronavirus pandemic.

The companies have also commenced daily feeding of 300 health workers in the state through the Eko Hotels, Lagos.

A source close to the head of Chagoury group of companies, Gilbert Chagoury said the gesture was not publicised because of their usual style of not publicising their philanthropy.

“That is their style, not to publicize anything they did as charity or philanthropy particularly when it affects large segment of the public.

The feeding of the 300 health workers through EKO Hotels owned by the Chagourys, the source said is to appreciate the work of the health officials who serve at the frontline in the fight against the pandemic and to find succor for them while discharging their delicate responsibilities.

The feeding, he said is a continuous exercise until when the government overcomes the crisis, a gesture that is estimated to cost the company millions of naira.
