Gov. Amosun Fights Dirty, Replaces Bode Mustapha’s Name On NDIC Board With Sokefun

Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State is reportedly fighting back over the non-recognition of his anointed governorship candidate for the state, Mr. Abdulkadir Adekunle Akinlade by the national body of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

It was gathered that the governor has started the fight with the replacement of the name nominee of the state on the board of the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Commission (NDIC), Mr. Bode Mustapha with that of one of his commissioners, Mrs. Sokefun.

A letter of replacement was allegedly written by President Muhammadu Buhari to the Senate to that effect, but it was gathered that the President certainly was not aware of that letter, and that neither was there any plan by PMB to remove Mustapha after he had already appeared for confirmation hearing.

Both the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu were reported to have been alerted about this development. Chief Bode Mustapha is known in Ogun State as a key backer/supporter of Dapo Abiodun,  the official APC gubernatorial  candidate, who defeated Amosun’s anointed candidate, Akinlade for the same position.

It was revealed that Amosun has declared total war against all his political opponents in the state over the governorship primary.

It will be recalled that Governor Amosun unilaterally picked Akinlade and his deputy alongside 38 other candidates against the rule of the APC and the tenets of democracy.

The matter later led to a serious crisis such that Amosun even toyed with the idea of dumping the APC for another party until reasons prevailed and he dropped the idea.
