26 Public Primary Schools In Agege Will Benefit N50m Free Learning Kits By LG

Hundreds of pupils in Seven Primary Schools within Agege Local Government Council, have benefitted from the annual Free Education palliative programmes by the executive Chairman, High Chief Kola Ganiu Egunjobi.
The free learning kits was established seven years ago to encourage and improve the education standard of both the pupils and the students in the secondary schools.
Egunjobi while addressing the pupils during the official distribution of the items urged them to take advantage of the gesture and be a good ambassador of their community and the country at large.
“By His Grace, we’re here today to support, help and encourage you all as our future leaders as we appealed to you all to be of good behaviours, for you are our future hope.
“We are here to give to you, as usual, exercise Notebooks. Each pupils will be given eight pieces, as a support.
“Within the three weeks programme we have arranged items worth N50 million to be distributed like school uniforms and bags, together with 100,000 notebooks to the school children and students, because this has been our culture,” the chairman said.
Egunjobi added that one of the responsibilities of the council was to ensure schools in community were performing well and meeting proper educational standards.
He also said that the programme would mitigate the effects of the economic hardship pervading the people.
Egunjobi said that the support programme was not only, public primary school in Agege, but also to cater for the educational pursuits of pupils with Special Abilities and the Physically Impaired.
He added that there were provisions for the physically Impaired pupils in the primary school.
According to him, today hundreds of them will benefit from the the distribution of the items where we will continue with other items next week.
“We will take delivery of the new 5000 school uniforms any moment from now to share with the school children as we have contracted them to our tailors in the neighborhood.
“We are assuring you that the uniforms will be ready for distribution very soon,” the chairman said.
Some of the schools visited so far were Keke Nursery and Primary school, Local Government Nursery and Primary School, Akilo primary School, Amosun Nursery and Primary School, State Nursery and Primary school, Sango Nursery and Primary school and Diary Farm Nursery and Primary School all in Agege.
