2023: Oyo APC Chairman, Omodewu Harps On Unity Among Members

Chairman of the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Issac Ajiboye Omodewu has said that the spate of insecurity, armed robbery and alleged corruption under the administration of Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde of the state called for sober reflection.

He then urged all aggrieved members of the party to sheath their swords and work in unison so that the party could dislodge the PDP in 2023.

Hon. Omodewu made the call over the weekend, while hosting members of the APC Professionals Councils led by their Chairman, Dr Bamidele Gold at the party’s state secretariat in Oke Ado, Ibadan.

While addressing the group, Hon. Omodewu disclosed that security architecture was never as bad as it was being witnessed in every nook and cranny of the state, stressing that it was time for the APC to put its house in order to win the 2023 election so that peace and tranquillity will return to the state.

While welcoming the members of the group that visited him, Hon. Omodewu said he was aware of the existence of the group as a national support group and charged them to work closely with the state executives to ensure success of the party in the State.

While encouraging them to be focused and avoid infighting that could derail them from the task ahead, Hon. Omodewu noted that the party could not afford to allow the same mistake it made in 2019 to repeat itself, stressing that the party will ensure level playing ground for whoever is interested in contesting for any elective positions in the state.

He however admonished such aspirant not to see his or her ambition as a do or die affair, but be ready to embrace one another and work together for the success of the party after the party’s primaries.

Earlier in his remarks, the State Coordinator of the group, Dr Bamidele Gold informed the Chairman and some members of the state working committe that the visit was to express their readiness to work in unity to position the party as a formidable team in order to record outstanding successes during the 2023 general elections in Oyo State.

He hinted that the group has been mandated from Abuja to mobilize professionals to join and contribute their quota for the growth of the party; coordinate all campaign activities of the council in Oyo State for overall victory in all elections as well as aggressively mobilize professionals to support the general manifestoes of the APC in all elections in the state.
