2023: Ibadan South West PDP Leaders, Aspirants Embrace Primaries
Ibadan Southwest aspirants and leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan Southwest have finally resolved to go through primaries after an intensive deliberations at the Molete residence of the late Ibadan South West top politician, Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu.
The leaders at the meeting were; Alhaja Bose Adedibu, Senator Kamorudeen Adedibu, Morufu Olumide Balogun, Paul Oni, Wale Afolabi, Alhaji Ado, Tajudeen Adigun (Atu), Tajudeen Aleshinloye, Pastor Popoola, Pastor Tibonyin, and Tajudeen Adeladan.
The aspirants at the meeting including the incumbents were; Femi Fowokanmi, Yusuf Adebisi, Babatunde Ige, Samson Opeyemi Fatola, Kazeem Alarape, Isola Adekunle Baruwa, Emmanuel Olorunfemi, Gbenga Elebolo, Hon. Sossy and Ramoni.
After an intensive arguments, the leaders failed to convince the aspirants that they should return the incumbent lawmakers automatically.
The pleas of the leaders fell on deaf ears and it was resolved that going into primaries for the 2023 general elections is the way out for the PDP in Ibadan Southwest Local Government.
